Ultrasonic > Refurbishment

We undertake refurbishment towards existing NDT Ultrasonic systems.

We understand the client refurbishment requirement - whether an upgrade or a repair and accordingly suggest cost effective solutions.

Our typical solutions towards an upgrade or repair of an existing NDT ultrasonic system are:

  • Increasing the number of ultrasonic channels for wider testing area or higher test speeds.
  • Upgrading a system (both mechanical + electronic) to meet a new testing standard.
  • Providing data logging arrangement for an existing electronics.
  • Converting manual / semi auto system arrangement into a complete auto system.
  • Supply of ultrasonic system spares and other new auxiliary item.

Case studies on our refurbishment work are listed below:

Case Study 1: Upgrading of Ultrasonic Tube Testing System
The customer existing ultrasonic tube inspection system did not support transverse defect detection. Also the existing ultrasonic electronics did not have any data reporting facility. Further many probe holders and other related parts had rusted and was inaccurate for use.

Due to the above, it was difficult to meet various inspection standards, testing data could not be archived and calibration was not accurate.

Enrico Solution
We provided a new probe manipulator made of stainless steel to avoid future rusting and to support transverse defect detection. This was specially designed to fit inside the existing immersion tank with fine adjustments for accurate calibration. Ultrasonic probes for transverse defect detection were also provided.

The data logging software was programmed based on the client and testing standard requirement.
The data logging hardware was newly designed to communication between the existing electronics and our software.
